Raw Dog Food and Co is a full scale brick & mortar serving local and online customers with nutritious and healthy alternatives to the standard kibble diet.  The owners are passionate about providing dog owners with best raw dog food along with the education needed in a newer marketplace.  Having established a baseline of customers, Rick and DeDe were ready to level-up and expand their business and double their growth. They came to Enquire for expertise on online strategy, an understanding of their target market and to collaborate on coming up with a unique design that would match their brand while providing them with a website and shop backend that was easy to manage and met their buyers where they were at, along every step of the journey.

the challenge:

When Raw Dog Food & Co came to us, they were on Shopify and had two websites, one for their online ecommerce shop selling their products, and another informational site that contained content for pet owners. They were also having a very difficult time maintaining and updating their website, because of the inherent limitations that exist with Shopify themes.

This project entailed us essentially creating Raw Dog Food & Co’s online presence from the ground up. We started by moving their website over from Shopify to WordPress, where they would have more control over their content. This also permitted them to have a more efficient lead funnel and storytelling of the brand and over their site.

One of the chief problems with both of Raw Dog Food & Co’s original sites was how they suffered from significant functionality and navigational issues, which made it difficult for individual customers to find the products and services they needed. We combined both of their sites into a single site with drastically improved functionality and navigation by following the best user experience design principles.

the results:

We did a full web design end development for Raw Dog Food & Co. This project had us essentially recreating their entire website from the ground up, creating new content to help customers find the right products they were looking for, and improving the ecommerce experience for the individual customer.

As a result, we were able to find a good balance of products and educational content where users could find both within the same site, instead of having to transfer between two different websites.

To make things even easier for Raw Dog Food & Co  customers, we created a Pets Food Plan Questionnaire to help guide people to find the right dog food and other products best suited for their animals.

Finally, we also focused on bringing Raw Dog Food & Co’s site more to life with the use of pet friendly imagery. The goal was to make their site more welcoming and inviting to dog owners, so they could increase sales.

By the end of this project, we had effectively optimized Raw Dog Food & Co’s ecommerce store, merged both of their sites into one with significantly improved functionality and navigation, and improved the appearance of their site to make it more appealing to dog owners.

Customers of Raw Dog Food & Co now have a much easier time finding the products and services they need thanks to a much more streamlined user experience when they visit the site.
